I began playing the organ for the mass on Provincial President's Sunday. Our children loved Mayfield school with its pool and excellent facilities. On my first visit I met a fellow Philharmonia chorus in the pool. I had no idea was a Catholic and a Catenian! He said "Go and play the chapel organ and if there is a problem say I said you could". I had no sooner started when an imperious voice came from the door "And what do you think you are doing?" It was one of the nuns!
